About Toastmasters

Being a member of Toastmasters is more than just showing up at meetings and giving a speech now and then. You’re part of a fun, supportive group of friends with common goals of self-development. And it’s not all about public speaking, either. Toastmasters is a place where you can hone your leadership and communication skills simultaneously, while joining a worldwide network of members who are doing the same thing you’re doing, one week at a time. ~Toastmasters International

Our Club

We welcome members from all walks of life walking towards all goals in life. Members of this club strive towards personal excellence and supportive of the goals individuals set for themselves. It is an environment to enrich lives, learn from each other and improve in personal development. As a volunteer-driven organization we depend on club members to drive the club forward which provides opportunities for leadership and learning.

This club is suitable for anyone interested in developing or improving their public speaking skills, looking to get ahead in their professional lives, wanting to improve their networking skills, building self-confidence, joining a group of like-minded individuals to improve their general skills.

Under its umbrella body, Toastmasters International, this club encourages anyone to practice and develop communication skills among friends within a formal format. The dedication of experienced members to mentor new or existing members helps individuals to remove the fear of public speaking, develop friendships and network at the same time. Individuals can feel challenged in a positive spirit to follow the speaking and leadership tracks and receive formal and informal recognition in the process.

Members start off with the Competent Communicator manual and the Competent Leader manual. A member is designated with CC (Competent Communicator) and CL (Competent Leader) at their completion. From there, members are encouraged to follow 2 tracks: the Communication track which includes AC (Advanced Communicator) Bronze, Silver and Gold, and the Leadership track which includes AL (Advanced Leader) Bronze and Silver.

When a person has completed all of these levels, they earn the designation of DTM, (distinguished toastmaster). A number of members have achieved their DTM as members at Golden Speakers Toastmasters. Furthermore, members have endless opportunities to develop leadership skills by taking executive roles in our club from being Club President to Sergeant at Arms.

Come as a guest. See what it is all about and have fun whatever your commitment. Remember the club motto because it really works – Excellence through Enjoyment!
